From the end of December to the middle of May, Kühtai is wearing white and represents a refined scenery for a unique event. The history of the wedding chapel
Before he became Tyrolean Prince Regent, Fürst Leopold V. was Bishop of Passau and Strassburg. During these times, he received the famous painting “Madonna” by Lukas Cranach as a present, which today can be seen in the Innsbruck Cathedral (Dom zu St. Jakob). A copy of this Madonna graced the Jagdschloss chapel for centuries. After effortful restorations, we gave the painting to the Marienkirche Kühtai as eternal loan.
