The chapel of Jagdschloss Resorts

Winter wedding at Kühtai

Jagdschloss’ small chapel is considered an insider’s tip for romantic white winter weddings. No wonder, celebrating at an altitude of 2000 metres with the mountains and summits of Kühtai as a picturesque backdrop makes wedding ceremonies a truly amazing experience! Every wedding and every baptism that is conducted here at Jagdschloss Resort is a joy for us and fills us with pride as the history of the location is enriched by one more chapter of the human experience. If you are in the planning stages for your celebrations: our chapel hosts approximately 20 to 25 persons.

White wedding

Imagine a wedding where the bride is not the only one wearing white, but entire high-alpine mountain ranges are covered in a lovely sparkling gown of white snow. From the end of December to the middle of May, Kühtai is wearing white and represents a refined scenery for a unique event. And the romance of the royal Jagdschloss Kühtai provides a very special atmosphere.

The history of the wedding chapel

Before he became Tyrolean Prince Regent, Fürst Leopold V. was Bishop of Passau and Strassburg. During these times, he received the famous painting “Madonna” by Lukas Cranach as a present, which today can be seen in the Innsbruck Cathedral (Dom zu St. Jakob). A copy of this Madonna graced the Jagdschloss chapel for centuries. After effortful restorations, we gave the painting to the Marienkirche Kühtai as eternal loan.
